Dear Park View Families,
Welcome to Park View Elementary. We are a small school tucked away on the north end of Lombard. We serve about 270 Kindergarten thru Fifth grade students. We also serve the Pre-School Speech Only students throughout the district. Our support staff includes school-wide services for Resource, Speech, English Language Learners, Literacy Support, and Differentiation. Our students participate in five sessions of Physical Education, two sessions of General Music, and one session of Fine Art per week.
Park View’s Vision is to help students reach their full potential. We strive to produce life-long learners by having high standards while making learning ‘too powerful to resist’. Each year our school improvement targets center around our Mission, which is to nurture optimal academic, social-emotional, and physical growth of all our students. This aligns with District #44’s Mission of working in partnership with students, families, and community members to educate the “whole child” in order to achieve personal excellence.
Park View staff members are highly qualified educators who focus on students’ individual needs through differentiation and working in partnerships with our families. Our researched-based curriculums align with the Common Core Standards. Technology is integrated through the disciplines to support 21st Century Learning. Staff members support students’ social-emotional needs through a Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) as well as specific social thinking curriculums such as ‘Skills For Growing’ and ‘ Superflex’.
Finally, Park View is fortunate to have a strong Parent Teacher Association (PTA) that supports our students and staff members. We work together to bring additional learning opportunities (assemblies, etc.) and fun events (pool party, etc.) to our students and families creating community that is uniquely Park View.
Each year, it is an honor to work with and serve the staff, students, families, and community of Park View. I am looking forward to another amazing year.
